Audio recordings of Malkiewicz's radio conversations about the the traffic stop contradicted the sworn testimony the officer gave in court. Perjury allegations quickly followed, leading Sheriff Mike Tregre to say that Deputy Malkiewicz had "failed to tell the truth," adding, "that won't be tolerated. Our Jobs are very simple.... tell the truth."
