Cop Arrested Twice in Four Months Still Collecting Paycheck

In September 2014, Chattanooga police detective David Catchings was arrested for DWI after being observed driving into oncoming traffic.  He was placed on paid administrative leave, enabling his $42,000.00-a-year salary to continue.

And after allegedly hitting his mother-in-law in the face with an open hand, Catchings was again arrested, this time by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The detective reportedly taunted his mother-in-law with, "Go ahead, call the cops.  They will believe me before you, because I'm a cop."  MORE......
Catchings is also accused of advising the officers who arrested him the second time that they "were brothers" and that they should be "arresting bad guys."  When that didn't work, he reminded them that his (Catching's) aunt signs their paychecks.  One last slobbering comment by Catchings allegedly advised the arresting officer that he, "....was a rookie and didn't know anything about police work."
